This is the scene that Alice appears in on the 7th episode of Constantine. Near the end of the black arrow you will see Alice’s head. If you were watching the show, you could see her flick her tongue.
Just A Peak
You could just barely see Alice in the NBC show Constantine that aired Friday night. At about the one minute mark when the Preacher places the box containing a snake on the floor, you can see some cages on the right side of the screen. Alice was in the large cage even with his head. You can see she is raised up watching. I will try to get a screen capture to post. She stayed in that same position throughout the filming.
Alice Makes Some New Friends
I had the opportunity to speak at our local Master Gardeners Meeting this month about the importance of and how to identify various snakes that are common in our area. I took Alice along to give the members a chance to hold a snake if they so chose. She was a big hit and did extremely well being handled by various attendees.
Below are just a couple of the pictures taken at the event.
Alice On TV?
Had the opportunity to be the assistant snake handler for the new NBC series Constantine this past week. Alice was used as a background snake in a cage during one scene. I will not know until the show airs if she actually ended up in any of the shots.
Another Shed
Alice had a nice shed yesterday. It was almost in one complete piece; Part of the belly broke off. I forgot to update on the last shed so this would be her second shed since my last post. I rewarded her today with 6 large mice. She is happy and curled up in her warm hide.
Shed Cycle Starting
Noticed Alice’s eyes are just starting to take on the blue tinge of the start of a shed cycle. Her last shed was almost 9 months ago. The longest she had gone before was 7 months. Looking forward to seeing her bright colors again 🙂
Mouser Not A Ratter
Alice refused the medium rat today, however she accepted 4 lg mice afterwards. She had stayed on rats for about 1 year and 4 months before going off feed at the end of February. Looks like we may have to go back to feeding her 5 mice or so at a time and feed the remaining rats to my Reticulated Python.
Great Checkup
Alice had a great checkup yesterday. The vets scales have her at 6.5 lbs. The 7 lbs I had recorded was definitely inaccurate. She is still refusing food, however she should be starting back soon.
Time For The Yearly Checkup
Alice has been on her yearly feeding break and should be returning to her normal feeding schedule in the next week or so. She has been doing very well and is up to 7lbs. It is also time for the snakes annual vet checkup. I will get that scheduled in the next couple of weeks.
General Update
Alice has been doing well. She has gone off feed around this time of year for the past few years. If she follows the same pattern she will go off feed again in the next few weeks. She has a definite preference for white rats and will occasionally refuse the dark colored rats. She just accepted a white rat after refusing the mostly dark one.
